Otter Spotters Needed: Help Map South Africa’s Otters!

Researchers at The Mammal Research Institute at the University of Pretoria are collecting data on otter distribution across South Africa, and they need your help! Whether you spotted an otter last week or have an old sighting tucked away in your photo library, the team wants to hear about it.

Submit your sightings through the Otter Spotters web-app at otter-spotters.web.app, and share the poster far and wide so we can learn more about these adorable little critters.

Have photos or videos that are too large to upload? Email saotterspotters@gmail.com or send files via WhatsApp to +27 71 933 2142. Every sighting helps the team better understand and protect South Africa’s otters, so they would be be otter-ly grateful for your participation!
